Supply chains and purchasing are critical aspects of the business model, which need to see sustainability integrated in a strategic and holistic manner. Companies face complex sustainability challenges in their global supply chains, that cover a wide range of Sustainable Development Goals, from GHG emissions and climate targets to human rights violations and corruption. Additionally, many stakeholders are demanding that companies have greater transparency in their supply chains and a sustainability agenda that reaches far beyond tier one.
