Silje have just finished her master studies in leadership at BI Norwegian business School, where she wrote her thesis on Green growth, and how BI`s master’s course "Green growth" has contributed to the transition to a more sustainable Norway. In her thesis she`s been interviewing former students on how they make use of their sustainability knowledge, what changes they have made for their companies and what success criteria and obstacles they meet in their day-to-day life and working with sustainability. Prior to studying Green Growth she worked as a research assistant at BI , where she made an assessment report on the sustainability and viability of production of ragworms cultivated on sludge waste from land-based aquaculture, under payment from The Norwegian Research Council, Doing her master thesis, she found that what separates the companies and the people who really succeed with sustainability as a strategy, from those who don`t, is mainly their ability to link sustainability to strategies and finance, and to have an anchoring in the top management. This is by far not the case in practice for all companies, and that is why she would like to work to make this happen. |
